Russian Athletes –
Olympic doping bans were overturned for 28 Russian athletes this morning. The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that evidence was “insufficient” that the 28, including several medalists that had broken anti-doping rules at the 2014 Games in Sochi. The 28 can now seek late entry into the Pyeongchang Games, which open next week.
All seven of Canada’s NHL teams are on the ice tonight.
The Calgary Flames welcome Tampa Bay, the Edmonton Oilers entertain Colorado.
Alberta’s Casey Scheidegger cruised to a 9-2 win over Quebec’s Emilia Gagne at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in yesterday’s afternoon draw. Scheidegger finished 6-1 atop Pool B in round-robin.
Also yesterday, Kerri Einarson led Team Wild Card to a 9-4 victory over Manitoba’s Jennifer Jones to take sole possession of first in Pool A. Einarson enters the playoff round with a 6-1 record, while Jones falls to 5-2 and a three-way tie for second in Pool A.
Rebels beat the Pats 2-0 last night. They have the day off today, the road trip continues Friday in Moose Jaw.
